A enlightening multi-day small islet experience in the magnificent Maskelyne Sound in South Malekula. This cultural package is suitable for a couple or family group. Experience local life, cuisine, gardening, handicraft, and magnificent snorkelling while making new friends!

Itinerary:
DAY 1: Monday – Sethric your host will meet you at Lamap Airport. After a 5 minutes’ drive you will come to Point Doucere/ Lamap Landing where you will boat through the Maskelyne Sound to Batis Seaside Bungalows (45 mins approx). After settling into your bungalow Sethric will introduce you to his neighbours and local village area. After lunch continue your exploration of the whole island meeting the locals and visiting the village churches, kindergarten, schools, Palm Project Soap Factory, and also one or two local kava bars!

DAY 2: Tuesday – Sakao Island Walkabout
After breakfast take a boat to the almost deserted island of Sakao. Begin with a walk along a sandy beach before exploring forests and gardens. Gather snacks of fruits and nuts along the way. After walking through the rainforest to a white sandy beach your tour guide will prepare an Island BBQ complete with freshly caught fish and roast bananas. After lunch spend your time snorkelling on the reef close to shore, explore the old village or simply relaxing under the trees. Return to Batis Seaside Bungalows in the afternoon via speedboat. In the evening enjoy a special seafood buffet including oysters, fish and mud crab.

Day 3: Wednesday*
Ringi Te Suh Marine Conservation Area: Travel by canoe to this island sanctuary built by hand and protected from fishing for over 25 years. Refreshments are provided on before paddling back to your bungalow.
Lap-Lap Cooking Experience: Local women will take you to a village kitchen where you will learn how to prepare Vanuatu’s National Dish. While it’s baking explore local gardens, learn the art of mat weaving and view Maskelyne Sound from a garden lookout. Finally enjoy the fruits of your labour- your freshly baked Lap-Lap!

Day Four – Thursday
After three days sharing the village life you will be sorry to say goodbye. Spend Thursday morning swapping stories with new friends before departing for the airport at 11am.
