Kiwanis Charity Race Week

kiwanis-charity-raceKiwanis International is a Service Club dedicated to the children of the world and to its local communities. Kiwanis tries to serve children and youth by attempting to improve their quality of life directly through activities, such as promoting health and education, and by encouraging leadership and service among youth.

In almost 40 years in Vanuatu, the Kiwanis Club of Port Vila has made contributions to an enormous array of community projects, ranging from re-cycling projects and providing practical sanitation facilities at various schools, to establishing a High Dependency Room in the Children’s Ward at Port Vila hospital.

From humble beginnings 25 years ago, the Kiwanis Charity Race Week has become one of the key fundraising activities that support Kiwanis projects in Vanuatu.

The Race Week is full of entertainment and action, with the glamorous Kiwanis Race Ball on Wednesday, the Carbine Club luncheon on Friday and the enormously popular Kiwanis Charity Race Day on Saturday. As the only race meeting in Vanuatu, and now attracting around 10,000 visitors annually, the amazing, colourful, party atmosphere has to be experienced to be believed.
