Road safety in Vanuatu

road-safetyYou drive on the right hand side of the road. The usual care and attention always applies but even more so in Vanuatu.

There can be some scary experiences as a passenger although the locals seem to know exactly where they’re going and where others drivers are going too, which is a relief.

You must be at least 23 to drive a hire car from some car-hire businesses in Vanuatu and have held your licence for at least a year. Others allow 18 year olds.

Wearing seatbelts is compulsory. Parking within your hotel grounds is advisable.
